DESCRIPTION
Forsythia - this is a very early spring blooming ornamental shrub. The flowers are very large, bell-shaped, and golden-yellow in colour. The leaves are green, elliptical, 6-10cm long, and serrated on both sides. The shrub is initially erect, narrow and slender, and with time expands. It grows up to 3 m in height.
ADVICES
This shrub is best planted in a sunny or semi-shaded position. The ideal soil should be fertile, and relatively moist. It prefers soil with a pH from slightly acidic to slightly alkaline.Avoid excessive pruning. Immediately after flowering cut the stems which have faded flowers. Once every few years some of the oldest branches can be shortened.
