DESCRIPTION

Van is a variety that is distinguished by regular and abundant crops. In fruits early, reaching maturity at the end of July. It gives large or very large, spherical, dark red fruit. The flesh is firm, crisp, tough and above all extremely tasty. The tree grows moderately fast.

ADVICES

The tree is best planted in a sunny, slightly breezy position. The plant prefers sandy-loam soil which is moderately moist and fertile. The optimum pH is in the range of 6,5-7,0.

To stimulate future growth the tree should be pruned in the first year immediately after planting. Formative pruning should be executed on the main stem, 20 cm above where the planned future branches will grow. The other branches should also be cut, reducing their length by one third. The best time to prune the cherry tree is annually in the spring. The variety is resistant to diseases. Van pollination requires the presence of other varieties flowering at the same time. Best results can be achieved by planting with varieties Buttnera Czerwona, Hedelfińska, Kordia, Rainier.
